The tide could be turning for Salt Lake City’s multifamily market

Net migration is at record high and supply is set to fall sharply in 2025

According to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Salt Lake city metropolitan area gained about 19,100 people from international migration last year. Meanwhile, around 8,400 residents moved away from the market, giving it a net gain of about 10,700, which is the highest on record. The trend of positive net international migration last year was one witnessed across all of the nation's 387 metropolitan areas.
