The National Apartment Association has installed Rick Snyder, a 30-year multifamily industry veteran, as its 2024 chairman. In his role at NAA, Snyder will help govern the federation of 141 affiliates that advocate for the industry.

Snyder, owner of property management firm R.A. Snyder Properties of San Diego, said he understands the importance of his job at NAA during what he called "a pivotal moment" for rental housing.

“In the year ahead, our vision to ‘inform, educate and advocate’ will help build a more holistic image of the industry and promote sustainable, responsible housing policies that ease affordability challenges and protect the nation’s rental housing infrastructure," Snyder said in a statement.

Snyder has been involved with the Arlington, Virginia-based apartment association for nearly two decades and has held several leadership positions, including regional vice president and membership committee chairman. He also served as president of the San Diego County Apartment Association in 2009. “For more than 30 years, Rick has worked tirelessly to foster a stronger rental housing industry,” NAA President and CEO Bob Pinnegar said in a statement.

In addition to Snyder, NAA’s 2024 leadership team includes Chairman-Elect Alan King, Berkshire Residential Investments; Vice Chairman Chris Burns, Lincoln Property Co.; Treasurer Jeannette Cox, Oddo Development; Secretary Brian Chase, Landmark Property Services; and Immediate Past Chair Ronda Puryear, Management Services Corp.
