A three-person brokerage team with listings in some of greater Los Angeles' most high-end retail corridors has moved to CBRE.
Houman Mahboubi, Greg Briest and Marisa Renfro, formerly with JLL, have joined CBRE’s advisory and transaction services practice in West Los Angeles, according to a statement by CBRE.
Mahboubi is a senior vice president, Briest is a first vice president, and Renfro is a vice president, according to the statement. The three are expected to focus on both landlords and tenants in upscale retail real estate deals.
“Retail real estate remains in demand, and we have an exciting opportunity to help shape the spaces that resonate with the evolving desires of consumers,” Mahboubi said in the statement.
From Malibu to Rodeo Drive to Venice, greater Los Angeles has high-profile luxury retail brands and destinations. Global upscale brands often choose to open flagship stores and first locations in Los Angeles. For example, LVMH has bought numerous buildings around Rodeo Drive as it grows its brick-and-mortar presence in Beverly Hills. And online shapewear maker Skims — founded by Kim Kardashian — plans to open its first location in West Hollywood.
Mahboubi, who has nearly two decades of experience, has had listings in desirable retail spaces, including Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Los Angeles, according to CoStar data.
In August, Mahboubi and Renfro were involved in a deal to bring luxury European fragrance and decor brand Baobab Collection to West Hollywood. Mahboubi also was involved in a hotel sale to French luxury giant LVMH in Beverly Hills in late 2021.
Mahboubi's other deals have involved companies including All Saints, Saint Laurent, Prada and Stuart Weitzman, according to Mahboubi's LinkedIn page.
