Atlantic Station LLC announced Publix Super Markets Inc., the largest employee-owned grocery store in the United States, will open a store in the Midtown Atlanta mixed-use community. The new store, which will be located on the northern end of Atlantic Drive in the heart of Atlantic Station, will occupy 30,312 square feet on a single level. The new market format is smaller than Publix's typical prototype. The new design has the urban shopper in mind and will offer gourmet take-out, an extensive wine selection, fresh sushi and other traditional grocery items. Publix currently has 143 stores in Georgia.
