Colliers Lands Vice Chair in West

Colliers has expanded its capital markets group in the U.S. West by adding Grant Lammersen as a vice chair, typically the highest position a deal-maker can attain at a brokerage firm. He left Newmark after more than seven years for the new job at Colliers, where he'll work out of its Salt Lake City office. While at Newmark, Lammerson served as a vice chairman and co-head of its capital markets group in San Francisco. In his new position at Colliers, Lammersen will work with Sean Fulp in California and collaborate with Brandon Fugal in Utah, the firm said.
Lammersen brings 24 years of industry experience during which he focused on marketing and selling institutional real estate. He was involved in some 400 transactions with an aggregate total value of more than $22 billion. "His extensive expertise and deep industry relationship make him an invaluable addition to our team as we deliver enhanced service to our clients across the West," David Josker, president of the U.S. Western region at Colliers, said in a statement.
Foundry Finds New Atlanta Leader
Foundry Commercial has added several brokers to its Atlanta operation with its purchase of Southsource, a boutique firm founded in 2020 by former WeWork executive Lawrence "LG" Gellerstedt. As part of the deal Gellerstedt, a fourth-generation Atlanta resident whose father Larry Gellerstedt was a longtime CEO of Cousins Properties, steps into the role of Atlanta market leader at Foundry. Partner Chris Hurd, who had served in that position since Foundry began building its Atlanta operation in 2016, has shifted to leader of the firm's Atlanta investment advisory practice.

Atlanta is an important market for Foundry, CEO Paul Ellis. “LG and the team bring a fresh perspective, and together we believe that we will build something very unique in the Atlanta marketplace," Ellis said in a statement. With the addition of seven brokers from Southsource, Foundry now has 15 in Atlanta.
Gellerstedt said in a LinkedIn post that "I've learned so much from my first time as a founder / entrepreneur. There are many lessons I'd love to share." He mentioned several people, including broker Scott DeMyer and Grace Thompson, who joined Foundry after more than a decade at Atlanta Property Group. And Gellerstedt gave a "big shout out to my friend and now brother in arms Jason Holwerda for showing me that you can keep building something special even on a larger scale." Holwerda is a Nashville, Tennessee-based Foundry partner and regional market leader. “We’ve had a relationship with LG and the Southsource team for years, and the cultural alignment was evident from the very start,” he said in a statement.

Attorneys Launch Impact Real Estate Practice

New York law firm Adler & Stachenfeld has formed a new practice centered on impact investing that is led by partners Danielle Ash and YuhTyng "Tyng" Patka. The new practice will work with developers, investors, and not-for-profit organizations on investments and projects guided by their environmental, social and governance, or ESG, initiatives.
“As ESG investing has become more common, demand for expert guidance on how to structure commercial real estate partnerships, joint-ventures, and other transactions to ensure both social good and benefit to all parties has become paramount,” Adler & Stachenfeld managing partner Terri Adler said in a statement. Successful impact-focused real estate deals require more than business acumen and knowledge of the priorities and cultures of each client, Patka said.
