Early Job Numbers Show Coronavirus Impact on Boston Economy

The Boston metropolitan area lost 9,100 jobs in March, according to a mid-month survey compiled by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. These job losses account for roughly half of the 18,000 job losses statewide. While this data does not illustrate the total impact the coronavirus had on the Boston economy in March, it certainly provides a look into which industries were affected.
