Summer Recess Spurs Uptick in San Diego’s Unemployment Rate

As the Tourist Season Arrived, the Leisure and Hospitality Sector Led Hiring in June

According to the latest report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, San Diego, California's unemployment rate rose to 4.5% in June, from 3.7% in May. That was 60 basis points higher than the estimate from 12 months ago for San Diego and 80 basis points below California’s statewide rate.
