The Bainbridge Cos. completed construction on a 300-unit multifamily complex in Orlando's Lake Nona neighborhood. The development earned a 2023 CoStar Impact Award in part for its host of luxury amenities in a lakefront setting.

The Bainbridge Mission Pointe apartments at 12231 Pioneers Way offers a saltwater swimming pool, tenant fitness center, 24-hour clubhouse, business center, cyber cafe with coffee bar and lounge areas, in-unit washers and dryers, nine-foot ceilings, stainless steel appliances, digital locks, private balconies or patios, detached garages for select units, electric vehicle charging stations, secured package room, walking trails and a private boat ramp and pier on Lake Whippoorwill.

"This is the third Bainbridge apartment community on Lake Whippoorwill, following in the footsteps of Bainbridge Nona Place and Bainbridge Narcoossee Cove," said Bob Thollander, president of development at the Bainbridge Cos., in a corporate statement. "With The Lake Nona ‘Medical City’ a stone’s throw away from Bainbridge Mission Pointe, this community will have just about everything going for it: great schools, close proximity to great high-paying job opportunities, fine dining, shopping and entertainment options."

About the project: The 100,000-square-foot multifamily development encompasses four four-story residential buildings offering one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging from 885 to 1,589 square feet.

It is situated on 22.4 acres located east of Center Florida Greeneway and its numerous dining, shopping and entertainment venues. Green areas including the Split Oak Forest Mitigation Park, Moss Park and the Isle of Corby Island Marsh Preserve are all within seven miles of the property.

The developer financed the project’s construction with a $43.8 million loan originated by Synovus Bank in 2020, according to media reports.

What the judges said: "Beautiful design," said Laurie Botts, real estate division manager with the city of Orlando.

"It is a great looking project and Florida needs more quality housing options," said Gregg Ickes, president of real estate services at Foundry Commercial.

"Great example of what a new suburban multifamily deal can be with tremendous amenities and location," said Justin West, first vice president and regional manager at Marcus & Millichap.
