Colliers U.S. has recruited a capital markets team, including six brokers, from rival property brokerage Newmark in Southern California.
Sean Fulp, who Colliers said resigned late Monday as a vice chairman of Newmark, and teammates Mark Schuessler, Ryan Plummer, Andrey Mindirgasov, Chris Smith and Jason Roth, joined Colliers in its greater Los Angeles office on Tuesday. Additional Fulp team members Jordan Garcia, Blake Hammerstein and Matteo Elias also made the move to Colliers, where they now are senior analysts.
The team that provides capital markets services to private and institutional investors focuses on the sale, acquisition and financing of office, medical, research-and-development, life sciences and industrial properties.
Colliers said Fulp, Schuessler, Plummer and Roth will be based in the firm's West Los Angeles office, while Smith and Mindirgasov will be based in Irvine, California. The brokers plan to work on deals across the U.S. West.
“The addition of this leading team significantly boosts our capital markets platform,” Jodie Poirier, Colliers' greater Los Angeles market leader, said in a statement.
At Newmark where Fulp worked for nearly nine years, he led the firm's private capital initiative. During his career, Fulp has completed more than 500 transactions with an aggregate value of over $7 billion.
Before he worked at Newmark, Fulp served as head of Western U.S. investment sales for Rockwood Real Estate Advisors. In that role, he arranged sales of various property types in major cities across the region including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Denver.
As the pandemic winds down, clients "expect nimble and innovative solutions" from their investment sales brokers and that Colliers would help his team offer more of that, Fulp said in a statement. He said the brokerage's "leadership, culture, and entrepreneurial framework will certainly fuel our growth.”
Fulp joins Colliers as a vice chairman and head of office capital markets for the U.S. Southwest. Schuessler and Plummer join as executive vice presidents and Mindirgasov, Smith and Roth join as senior vice presidents.
On their team, Fulp, Schuessler and Plummer oversee the sales and disposition process. Mindirgasov and Smith lead buyer advisory, and Roth provides debt and structured finance services to clients around the country.
