Canadian tech and new media firms had been key drivers for office leasing in many markets. In Vancouver, for example, leasing by tech, advertising, media and information — or TAMI — tenants accounted for nearly 40% of leasing in recent quarters. But with the rapid rise in interest rates, the future cash flows of these growth companies have come under greater scrutiny.
