Raleigh Has Higher Per Capita Income Than Most Peer Markets

Growth Rate Is on Par With National Average

Residents in North Carolina's Raleigh-Cary metropolitan area continue to out-earn those in peer cities, according to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Raleigh’s $66,428 per capita personal income in 2021 is a 7.6% increase from 2020 and a 14% increase over the area’s 2019 earnings, the last year before the COVID-19 pandemic. The figures are not adjusted for inflation.
