CBRE expands San Diego brokerage team

CBRE has expanded its executive team in San Diego with the hiring of Brunson Howard as market leader and senior managing director and Alex Nunn as director of valuation and advisory services. Howard previously served as an executive managing director at Newmark in San Diego. He now oversees CBRE’s business operations in the region, including advisory service lines, leasing, finance, and property management, the real estate services firm said.

An 18-year industry veteran, Howard also held previous leadership and capital markets roles at Cushman & Wakefield in San Diego. Nunn’s new role will include training, business development and performance assessment related to valuation services, CBRE said.

Nunn's prior work involved several property categories including life science, office and retail, and he worked earlier at commercial real estate appraisal firm Seevers Jordan Ziegenmeyer. 

Redgate promotes executives in eastern service push

Redgate has promoted four current executives to principal and also appointed a new vice president of marketing. Joining the firm’s existing team of principals are Laura Gregoriadis, Peter DeLuca, Kristi Dowd and Alex Dubanowitz, the Boston-based brokerage said. Lauren Michaels was hired as vice president of marketing, after prior work with developer Carpenter & Co.

Gregoriadis joined Redgate in 2022 as chief financial officer. DeLuca joined Redgate in 2012, serving most recently as executive vice president and co-lead of investor services. Dowd joined the firm in 2021, previously serving as executive vice president and institutional services lead, and Dubanowitz joined the firm in 2013, serving most recently as executive vice president and corporate services lead. Redgate provides brokerage, investment and project management services primarily in New England, the Mid-Atlantic and North Carolina.

NAI Hiffman broadens advisory offerings with new hire

Paul Grusecki was named managing director and head of advisory services at brokerage NAI Hiffman and its property management division, Hiffman National, the Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois-based company said. Grusecki is based in the company’s suburban Chicago headquarters. He spent more than 14 years at CIBC Bank USA, where he was most recently managing director and head of commercial real estate for special loans.

His new role will include expanding Hiffman’s project, workplace, lending and lease administration services, the firm said. NAI Hiffman and Hiffman National employ more than 250 people throughout North America.

Developer Opus elects Mitsui Fudosan executive to board

Real estate industry veteran John Kessler, CEO of Mitsui Fudosan America, has been elected to the board of directors at development firm Opus, the Minneapolis-based company said. Kessler heads U.S. subsidiary operations of Tokyo-based development and investment firm Mitsui Fudosan Group, after previously serving as chief operating officer.

Kessler previously served in roles that included president and chief operating officer at Empire State Realty Trust in New York and managing director in the credit business of Fortress Investment Group. He also held positions at Morgan Stanley Real Estate. Opus has nationwide operations in development, finance, construction, project management and related services, covering multiple residential and commercial property categories.

Mogharebi Group bolsters Las Vegas operations

Steve Nosrat joined The Mogharebi Group’s Las Vegas office, where he now leads the multifamily investment sales team as senior vice president, the Costa Mesa, California-based company said. Nosrat joined the firm from Avison Young, where he was a principal in the Las Vegas office. Before that, he served as a senior vice president at NAI Las Vegas.

His 18-year career includes five years of multifamily development experience abroad. Nosrat was part of the executive management team at Azizi Developments, among the largest private real estate developers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He helped launch 34 luxury high-rise apartment and condominium projects throughout Dubai. The Mogharebi Group has multifamily investment offices throughout the Western U.S.
