Hines Adds Grandson of Founder to C-Suite
Hines has promoted Adam Hines, a grandson of late founder Gerald Hines, to senior managing director, serving as chief of staff in the global investment and development firm's Office of the CEO. Adam Hines' position is a newly created one, and he will report to Co-CEOs Jeff Hines and Laura Hines-Pierce. In his new role, Adam Hines "will focus on advancing several of our high-level strategic priorities, including enhancing Hines' client engagement strategies to position the firm for future growth," said Jeff Hines, who also serves as chairman, in a statement. Adam Hines joined the company in 2017 in its London office to focus on student accommodation and residential acquisitions and moved back to its global headquarters in Houston in 2020. He most recently served as chief growth officer of Hines' investment management platform, where he led the effort to increase the firm's engagement with high-net-worth investors and family offices. "He was instrumental in creating Hines Private Wealth Solutions and recruiting its leader, Paul Ferraro, formerly of Carlyle," the company said.
In February 2022, Hines named Laura Hines-Pierce, a granddaughter of Gerald Hines, to serve as co-CEO alongside her father, Jeff, who at the time had been leading the company for more than 25 years. Adam Hines is Jeff Hines' son and Laura Hines-Pierce's brother. When Hines promoted Laura Hines-Pierce, the company said it was enacting a succession plan that included the expectation that her two brothers, Adam Hines and Matthew Hines, would join her and her father in the office of the CEO at the direction of Jeff Hines. "We expect that Matthew Hines will join the Office of the CEO at Jeff Hines' discretion at the appropriate time," Hines spokesperson Christine Delucchi said Monday in an email.
