Cushman & Wakefield is further expanding its Sun Belt apartment sales group in several cities across the growing region by adding a pair of multifamily brokers in Dallas.

The Chicago-based brokerage hired Grant Raymond and Asher Hall as senior directors to its multifamily advisory group for the Sun Belt. Based in Cushman & Wakefield's Dallas office, the firm said Raymond and Hall would focus on multifamily investment sales in Dallas-Fort Worth.

The brokers joined Cushman & Wakefield from Institutional Property Advisors, a division of Marcus & Millichap. The addition of Raymond and Hall is part of an effort to expand the brokerage's Sun Belt multifamily advisory group’s presence in both the Dallas area and across Texas, Cushman & Wakefield said.

“Texas is a major multifamily market" within the Sun Belt, making it "critical for our firm to continue growing there and finding ways to maximize the multifamily services we offer to existing and prospective clients in the state’s key cities,” said John O’Neill, president of Cushman & Wakefield's U.S. multifamily capital markets business, in a statement.

Earlier this year, Raymond and Hall were part of the IPA team that represented SWBC Real Estate in its sale of a five-property, 1,437-unit multifamily portfolio in the Dallas and Austin, Texas, markets. That transaction was recognized as one of the top sales in the second quarter as part of CoStar Power Brokers Quarterly Deals.

Raymond and Hall also are the latest in a string of new hires Cushman & Wakefield has made to grow its multifamily investment sales group as apartments transaction activity remains strong. So far this year, the brokerage had added new apartment sales brokers in several Sun Belt cities.

Last month, Cushman & Wakefield hired Alex McDermott and Austin Green in Charlotte, North Carolina. McDermott and Green are expected to help lead the business in the Carolinas and joined the firm's multifamily investment sales group from Capstone.

Also in August, Cushman & Wakefield expanded its Sun Belt apartment sales group with the addition of Ian Anderson as a director in Nashville, Tennessee. Anderson, who joined the firm from rival brokerage JLL, works on apartment investment sales in the city and across the eastern portion of Tennessee.

With the addition of Raymond and Hall, Cushman & Wakefield's Sun Belt multifamily investment sales team now has 101 members covering 11 states.

In 2021, the brokerage's Sun Belt multifamily advisory group closed 429 deals valued at $13.8 billion that involved the trading of nearly 85,000 units. That sales volume and number of transactions ranked No. 1 in the region, Cushman & Wakefield said, based on deals reported to CoStar Group.
