Like many property sectors, multifamily real estate experienced significant upheaval during the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, despite the environmental benefits, LEED-certified buildings underperformed four-and five-star-rated non-LEED buildings in rent growth in 2020 and at the beginning of 2021.
