JLL's head of Scotland Alasdair Humphery is stepping down after 15 years.
Humphery, who has been employed in several roles since 1989 at the global brokerage, will become a consultant to JLL, working in commercial property investment.
The company has said it will provide an update on a replacement for the role "fairly soon".
Announcing his decision to step down via a post on LinkedIn, Humphery said he would leave the role "shortly".
"As part of this evolution, I am really excited at the prospect of becoming a consultant to JLL and working exclusively in my old arena of commercial property investment which I enjoyed over many years of my career.
"Looking forward, I'm going to be seeking new challenges as a non exec or adviser to hopefully put my considerable experience of property and more broadly running a dynamic and progressive business into other organisations."
Humphery said he looked forward to supporting JLL's director of Scottish investments Calum Cowe and the team to take forward the Scottish business.
A JLL spokesperson said: "We can confirm that after almost 20 years in senior leadership roles for JLL in Scotland, Alasdair Humphery has decided to shift his focus and apply his considerable experience on investment work within JLL.”
Industry peers responded to Humphery's post, with JLL head of capital EMEA Fraser Bowen saying: "You have been the backbone of the Scottish JLL business for so many years and been such an approachable and supportive leader throughout. Thank you."
Scott Gibson, director of Edinburgh-based Allermuir Estates, said: "It has been a pleasure to work with you over the years. Looking forward to seeing where things take you from here. I’m sure whatever you do will be done with full professionalism."
Humphery was originally employed by Jones Lang Wootton before its merger with La Salle Partners in the late 1990s to create JLL. He is also an international director of the group.
He formerly served as the chair of the Scottish Property Federation and has more than 30 years of experience as a qualified Chartered Surveyor and real estate adviser. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
