A Northern Virginia apartment investor and developer plans to build a second project in its home state’s capital region where construction has been tapering off.

Middleburg Communities bought 13.5 acres at 9002 to 9004 Brook Road in Glen Allen, a northern Richmond suburb. It plans to build a new multifamily property called The Brook at the site, which will include 310 apartment and townhouse units. The parcel is currently occupied by a small, 1960s-era hotel, the Knights Inn, which will be demolished to make way for the new development.
