Consumer electronics maker Belkin International's plan to move its headquarters from Los Angeles' Playa Vista neighborhood to El Segundo, California, is a sign that the region's South Bay is gaining traction in attracting tech and upstart companies to fill the space left behind by the aerospace industry that once dominated the area.
