Apartment vacancy rates are the lowest they’ve been since 2000. And challenges in buying homes, especially for the millennial cohort, is likely to keep that performance going. The national average vacancy rate of 3.6% is even lower than it was at the top of the market in 2007. That’s the word from the latest multifamily report by CBRE.
