Earlier this year it was reported that the British Property Foundation wrote to Lord Callanan, Minister for Business, Energy and Corporate Responsibility, in relation to what it saw as the “abuse” of company voluntary arrangements, in light of retailers' increasing use of CVAs, disproportionately impacting landlords through rent reductions, writing off arrears and site closures.
