Regent Jeddah
IHG Hotels & Resorts and owner Almuhaysin Group have signed a management agreement to open the first Regent-branded hotel in the Middle East, the 182-room Regent Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The hotel is due to open in mid-2024.
IHCL Acquires Leiden Hilton
Breda, The Netherlands-based owner International Hotel Capital Partners has bought the 173-room Hilton Garden Inn Leiden, also in The Netherlands, from RECO Development.
Kasada Acquires Hotel To Become First South Africa Pullman
South Africa-based private-equity firm Kasada has acquired Cape Town’s former Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, which opened in 2018. No reopening date has been announced, but the 214-room hotel will be repositioned as South Africa’s first Pullman hotel, an Accor brand.
Langdale Chase
Built in 1937 on the shores of England’s Lake Windermere, hotel Langdale Chase, with 30 rooms, will reopen this fall following a renovation. Family office Daniel Thwaites also is renovating the property’s celebrated garden.
Radisson Red Tbilisi
Radisson Hotel Group opened the 111-room Radisson Red Tbilisi in the capital of Georgia in a former post office, which dates back to the 1920s.
W Hotels To Open in Ras Al Khaimah
Marriott International, owner Dalands Holding and Marjan, the master developer of freehold properties in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, plan to open the W Hotel Al Marjan Island with 300 rooms in early 2027. Al Marjan Island currently has approximately 3,000 hotel rooms in operation.
Room2 Belfast
On Oct. 16, owner and developer Lamington Group will open the Room2 Belfast, Northern Ireland, which will have 175 rooms. It is the group’s fourth hotel and first outside of England.
Wyndham Grand Enters Poland
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is to debut its brand Wyndham Grand in Poland with the Wyndham Grand Krakow Old Town. To be managed by Dobry Hotel Group, the property has 60 rooms.
Pestana Acquires Vila Sol for €43 Million
Portuguese hotel firm Grupo Pestana has acquired the 189-room Vila Sol hotel in Vilamoura, Portugal, for €43 million from Madrid-based Santander Asset Management. Pestana will manage the hotel, which will be renamed the Pestana Vila Sol and has two 18-hole golf courses.
Sonar Acquires Niu Kettle Hotel As Part Of Mixed-Use Site
Sonar Real Estate, which manages fund Stuttgarter Immobilien-Spezialfonds, has acquired the 198-room hotel Niu Kettle by Novum Hospitality as part of its larger acquisition of a 120,000-square-foot mixed-use development in the German city. The seller is Weisenburger Projekt.
Two Scandic Hotels To Be Moved to Soft Brand
Scandic Hotels Group AB will open two upcoming hotels as part of its soft brand Signature Collection. In 2025 it will open a 305-room property in Tromsø, its third hotel in the northern Norway city, and in 2026 it will open a 342-room property in Aarhus, Denmark’s second-largest city.
Fondsgrund Acquires Mannheim Holiday Inn
Owner Fondsgrund Investment has acquired a mixed-use development in Mannheim, Germany, called No. 1 that includes the 150-room Holiday Inn Mannheim City-Hauptbahnhof. Luxembourg-based Adler Group sold the property for €70 million, according to CoStar News.
