LOS ANGELES — Aimbridge Hospitality has restructured its business development group as part of its ongoing efforts to become more responsive to new deals with hotel owners.
Company executives announced the change as part of its Aimbridge Accelerate Report, which it released during the first day of the Americas Lodging Investment Summit. The report provides an overview of the company’s highlights from 2022 as well as a look into the company’s plans for this year.
During a news conference about the report and restructuring, Aimbridge Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Jordan said the company has focused on investing in talent over the past year, referencing the hiring of Mark Tamis as president of global operations and Allison Reid as chief global growth officer. The two have met with hotel owners and brands to explore opportunities to strengthen partnerships.
That led Reid to reinvent much of the structure in the development team, he said.
“That is very much in keeping in sync with the operating divisions, to make sure that our development leads understand the best operations acumen and how to do the best matching with owners,” he said.
Under the new structure, Aimbridge will have five business development leaders who oversee dedicated groups and will report to Reid. The new development leaders are:
- Dan Thorman, senior vice president of development for the Evolution Lifestyle and Aimbridge Full-Service Divisions for the eastern half of the U.S.
- Kathleen Hollis, senior vice president of development for the Evolution Lifestyle and Aimbridge Full-Service Divisions for the western half of the U.S.
- Adrienne Jubb, senior vice president of development for the Select-Service Enhanced and Select Service Divisions for the western region of the U.S.
- Justin Magazine, senior vice president of development for the Select-Service Enhanced and Select-Service Divisions for the eastern region of the U.S.
- Kevin Dingle, senior vice president of development for the Select-Service Enhanced and Select-Service Divisions in the central region of the U.S.
“The vertical structure we are committing to in all levels of Aimbridge is advantageous for owners, and we are able to deliver results and value in a way that exceeds expectations and sets Aimbridge apart within our industry,” Reid said in the news release. “The changed structure of our development team means better allocation of resources and more dedicated attention on the details that will move the needle in meaningful ways.”
Tamis said the new divisional structure on the operations side implemented in 2022 was the result of Aimbridge wanting to remain nimble for owners. The structure, with each division president having their own executive committee, allows their teams to focus on their areas of expertise and maximize returns for owners.
The restructuring of the development team better aligns it with its corresponding operating team and its structure, he said.
The new structure will allow the development teams to have stronger partnerships with the operations teams, Jordan said.
“It’s a great composition that enables them all to work together and really have the best of all worlds,” he said.
