Hilton To Open First Hotel in Monaco

Hilton is set to debut in Monaco with the opening of the Columbus Hotel Monte-Carlo, Curio Collection by Hilton. A franchise agreement with Groupe Bertout that will rebrand an independent hotel, to include 181 rooms and open by the end of this year.

After 160 Years, Monte-Carlo SBM Goes International

The Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has announced the acquisition of the 78-room Le Palace des Neiges in Courchevel 1850. It marks the first international hotel for Monte-Carlo SBM, founded in 1863, although the property is located not too far into France across the Monegasque border. The hotel will be renovated next year, but it will remain operated by the Alp’Azur Group for the upcoming winter skiing season.

Aleph Teams Up With Basketball Champ

Dubai-based management company Aleph Hospitality has signed an agreement with owner Masai Ujiri, the British-born president of the Toronto Raptors basketball team and a former player, to open the 80-room hotel Zaria Court in the Rwandan capital, Kigali. Due to open in 2025, it will contain a sports complex and an outdoor amphitheater.

Radisson Heads For First Time to Réunion

Radisson Hotel Group is to open its first hotel in the Indian Ocean island of Réunion, which lies approximately 275 miles east of Madagascar. The Radisson Hotel Saint-Denis will have 124 rooms.

Mondrian Comes To Bucharest

Accor division Ennismore and owner One United Properties have announced they are to open the Mondrian Bucharest, the brand’s Romanian debut, in capital Bucharest. One United bought the site in December 2022, but as yet no room count has been announced.

Hyatt To Open Thompson Seville in Spain

Hyatt Hotels Corporation in 2026 is to open the 101-room Thompson Seville, which will be the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Sevilla and the second Thompson hotel in both Spain and Europe. The continent also is to get the Thompson Rome in mid-2024 and the Thompson Vienna in 2025.

Rosewood To Open Blue Palace in 2025

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal with owner Phāea (Golf Residences S.A.) to open the Rosewood Blue Palace in 2025 between two the settlements of Plaka and Elounda on the island of Crete. Its first hotel in Greece, the hotel will have 154 rooms, 85 of which will have private pools.

Marbella Resort Targeted for 2026

Operator AltamarCAM and owner Inbest-GPF have partnered with health company Lanserhof to develop a 260,000-square-foot resort in Marbella that will have 70 hotel rooms. The resort, due to start construction in mid-2024 and open in 2026, will be a sibling to Lanserhof’s existing resorts in Lans, Austria, and Sylt and Tegernsee, both in Germany.

Yotel Signs Three Hotels in Europe Pipeline

Yotel has said it will open two new hotels in Europe. The Yotel Geneva Lake, Switzerland, will have 237 rooms and open in February; and the Yotelpad Stratford will open in London in May as part of the firm’s aparthotel brand and have 62 keys.

RBH Adds AC Hotel to Third-Party Portfolio

Hotel management firm RBH Hospitality has added a new brand to its portfolio, the 245-room AC Hotels by Marriott Glasgow, which opened in November. The owner is Chris Stewart Group, and the property is a conversion of the 120-year-old Parish Hall, listed by Historic Scotland as a property of national or international importance.

Spain’s Marina d’Or Acquired by Joint Venture

In November, owner Grupo Fuertes and owner and management firm Magic Costa Blanca completed the 50%-50% acquisition of the Marina d’Or resort in Oropesa del Mar, Spain, from American owner Farallon Capital Management. The resort contains five hotels with a combined 1,200 rooms. Farallon in 2022 acquired 99% of the property’s debt, approximately 125 million euros. The deal also includes two additional hotels farther south in Spain, with a combined 150 rooms.

IHG Signs Second Dubai Vignette

IHG Hotels & Resorts is to open its second conversion-brand hotel under its Vignette umbrella in Dubai, the Marbella Resort Hotel, Vignette Collection The World Islands Dubai, in January 2026 with 150 rooms overlooking the Persian Gulf

Room Mate Buys Debut London Hotel

Madrid-based Room Mate Hotels has acquired from Matt Goodsall and Charlotte Goodsall its debut United Kingdom property, the Lime Tree, London, and will manage the property, which occupies a Grade II-listed building. It has 26 rooms and is part of a portfolio that now numbers 23 hotels in five European countries.

Premier Inn To Open in Bogner Regis

Whitbread PLC has received planning permission to build a 116-room Premier Inn hotel in Bognor Regis, England, at the site of a former fire station.
