CBRE Recruits Large Multifamily Sales Team From Cushman in Indianapolis

George Tikijian (CBRE)

CBRE has recruited a nine-person multifamily team led by George Tikijian III and Hannah Ott from rival Cushman & Wakefield in Indianapolis.

Tikijian and Ott joined CBRE as vice chairs, and they brought Cameron Benz, who is now a first vice president. In addition, associate Claire Bullard, sales support leads Christine Nealis and Carrie Ballard, sales support coordinator Jennifer Brown and financial analysts Logan Braunecker and Ryan Stockamp also made the move to CBRE with their teammates.

The team will focus on multifamily investment sales in Indiana and Kentucky and plans to expand into adjacent markets, CBRE said. Since 2019, the team has completed more than 200 transactions comprising a total of more than 47,000 apartments and having an aggregate value of over $5.6 billion.

For Tikijian, the move marks his return to CBRE, where he worked from 1984-2005. At Cushman & Wakefield, he served as executive vice chair of multifamily advisory in the Midwest and, before that, owned apartment brokerage Tikijian Associates.

During his 40-year career, he has led or participated in more than 600 multifamily sales valued collectively at more than $9.4 billion. Ott previously served as executive vice chair at Cushman and has more than 22 years of industry experience. Throughout her career, she has led or been involved in more than 400 multifamily sales with an aggregate value of more than $7.7 billion.

The hiring of Wetherington is the latest move by Chicago-based Cresa to grow its Texas operations over the past 24 months. Earlier this year, Cresa Dallas added Mitch Wolff and Joe Siglin, and in September, adviser Chelby Sanders also joined the Dallas office.
