The Canadian capital is getting its own Commercial Real Estate Women, or CREW, Network chapter as the group continues its international expansion.

Delegates representing the network with 86 chapters and more than 15,000 members worldwide recently voted unanimously to add the Ottawa chapter at the 2025 CREW Network Winter Leadership Summit in Jacksonville, Florida.

The new chapter aims to promote commercial real estate business opportunities for members and provide industry networking, education and leadership opportunities in the Ottawa market.

"The founding vision was to foster a community that supports the advancement of women in the field, providing access to networking opportunities, professional development, and mentorship," said the Ottawa board in a statement.

CREW has expanded into several new cities and countries in the past couple of years. At the MIPIM real estate conference in March 2024, CREW CEO Wendy Mann said CREW had expanded into another country with the establishment of CREW Ireland. She also said CREW was considering a chapter in Poland.

While most major Canadian cities have a CREW network chapter, Ottawa, a city of more than 1 million people, lacked a dedicated organization for women in commercial real estate.

Commercial real estate professionals interested in joining CREW Ottawa can contact President Sarah Crouch, manager of business development at First Onsite.
