Hines and a trio of its executives won recognition for a timber office building in the NAIOP Colorado 38th Annual Awards of Achievement contest.

Hines' six-story T3 RiNo project in Denver was recognized with the state chapter of the commercial real estate development association's Development Deal of the Year award. Hines developed the 238,726-square-foot mass timber office building in the city's River North Arts District with partners Ivanhoé Cambridge of Montreal, Canada, and Chicago-based McCaffery. Built last year, RiNo is set to become the home of the regional headquarters for Xcel Energy. Xcel plans to move into approximately 220,175 square feet in T3 RiNo in July, according to CoStar data.

"In a year marked by turbulence in the office market, this forward-thinking project delivered a space that seamlessly blends timeless architectural elements with cutting-edge sustainability," said NAIOP. "Strategically positioned near major transit connections, its climate-conscious design and natural materials redefine how commercial spaces" can succeed.

The Hines trio of Michael Bjes, Chris Kalmbach and Nick Koplyay, accepted the award on behalf of the T3 RiNo development team.

BioMed Realty's 5555 Central Ave. in Flatiron Park, an adaptive reuse project, took home NAIOP Colorado's Innovative Development of the Year award; Riverside Investment & Development's 1900 Lawrence office tower won the Office Development of the Year award; and Quantum 56 Phase I, a project from Hines and EnviroFinance Group, was recognized with the Industrial Development of the Year award.

More than 400 people attended the event hosted by Fidelity National Title National Commercial Services at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.
