The demand for high-quality, low-carbon, tech-enabled office spaces is soaring, but there’s a shortage of new developments to meet this need. In fact, over the next five years, we’ll see a shortfall of 2.2 million square metres of adequate office space, leaving 57% of this demand unmet, according to JLL's EMEA Fit-Out Cost Guide. At the same time, labour shortages and high material costs are posing challenges to new office developments.
