India-based Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, which describes itself as providing “upscale hotels and resorts,” is launching a luxury brand named Anamore.
Cygnett's first property for its new brand will open with 250 rooms in December in Pushkar, Rajasthan. Cygnett's headquarters are located in Gurgaon, New Delhi.
Cygnett plans to open six Anamore hotels and resorts comprising a total of approximately 1,200 rooms, and by 2029 the company plans to have a total of more than 6,000 rooms for the brand.
Across all its brands, Cygnett plans to have more than 100 hotels by 2029, some of which will be in new markets outside of India.
Cygnett is a privately held firm founded by managing director Sarbendra Sarkar, who also announced the news on his LinkedIn page.
In a post on Jan. 8, Sarkar said an Anamore hotel is coming to Goa with owner Yugen Infra, a joint venture of two real estate investment firms, Gurgaon-based Timespro Consulting and Mumbai-based VK Developers. The Goa resort will be named the Anamore Select Resort & Wellness and will have 150 rooms and open either in late 2026 or early 2027.
In total, there will be six Anamore hotels in its first phase of development, and the goal is to open approximately 30 properties in the next three years. All will be in India, with the other four destinations in the first batch being Karjat, Khalapur and Murud in the state of Maharashtra and Srinagar in the state of Uttarakhand.
Cygnett operates 20 hotels in 18 destinations under brands Cygnett Inn, Cygnett Lite and Cygnett Collection. All are in India, except for one, the Cygnett Inn Krishna in Nepalgunj, Nepal.
Jaipur is the only Indian city with more than one of its hotels in operation. The city has three.
Cygnett also has a spa brand named Ayurvyaas.
India is undergoing a hotel and tourism boom with an expanding middle class, the world’s largest population and several hotel firms going public on the country’s stock exchange.
