Kaufman County emerges as leader for population growth in Dallas-Fort Worth

Outlying counties report a surge in new residents since 2020

After years of Collin County claiming the top spot for population growth in North Texas, a new champion has emerged. Kaufman County, located in the southeast portion of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, led the state in population growth last year and claimed the national number-two spot just behind Dawson County in Georgia.
