GGP Buys Out Joint Venture Partner in 22 Centers for $950M; Regency Centers Buys Stake in 33 Midwest Properties

In two sizeable deals announced Monday, Regency Centers Corp. (NYSE: REG) agreed to acquire an interest in 33 Midwest retail centers owned by The Desco Group, while shopping mall REIT General Growth Properties Inc. (NYSE: GGP) said it has bought out joint venture partner New York State Common Retirement Fund in a portfolio of 22 properties across the country.
