Lots of celebrities try their hand at being restaurateurs, and comedian-actor Kevin Hart was among them. But his stint in the dining business appears to have been short-lived.
Hart House, the quick-service restaurant chain Hart founded two years ago, closed all four locations in Los Angeles last week.
"To our team, guests, and community, who helped make the change we all craved," Hart House said on its Instagram account, "a Hartfelt goodbye for now as we start a new chapter.”
It's unclear to what "the new chapter" refers. Hart House didn't immediately respond to a request to comment.
When Hart announced in 2022 that he was launching and financially backing the chain led by CEO Andy Hooper, the former president of &pizza, Hart touted its healthy vegan menu. Hart adopted a plant-based diet in 2020.
Hart House's offerings included plant-based burgers, shakes and nuggets. Its first L.A. location was at 8901 S. Sepulveda Blvd. in Westchester, with others in the Monrovia, Hollywood and University Park South areas.
