New York-based specialty athletic apparel and footwear retailer Foot Locker, Inc. opened a 465,000-square-foot distribution center in Sparks, Nevada, just east of Reno. Completed as a build-to-suit with Indianapolis-based Scannell Development the fully automated facility cost more than $40 million to build and equip and will supply more than 300 stores on the West Coast. Foot Locker said the new facility will also result in greater cost efficiency and reduce shipping times within the region by more than 50%.
