It's time to focus more on workspaces, according to the leader of a group of New York corporate real estate executives.

“Everybody’s tired of talking about return to office,” said Larry Charlip, president of CoreNet NYC and global head of facilities at Warner Music Group, in an interview. “Most companies are back in the office or at least they’re working toward it.”

This year, the CoreNet Global chapter instead will focus on innovation, Charlip said Thursday at the organization’s annual New Year’s party at Gotham Hall in Manhattan.

The “workplace and technology is more important today than it ever was,” he said. The executive suggested offices could use artificial intelligence, or AI, to be more intuitive especially for optimizing meetings and collaboration.

Collaboration space at offices remains another focus among real estate executives. For instance, Warner Music is adapting its office spaces to accommodate working together more closely, Charlip said.
