Nido Living, the student accommodation platform owned by CPP Investments, has made Rosemary Boot a non-executive director.
Boot will also serve as chair of the business' audit and risk committee and will join the investment and ESG committees.
Nido Living said she brings more than 16 years of experience as a non-executive director and a distinguished career as a strategic and commercial leader in the investment banking, climate change/clean energy and property sectors.
Boot held senior roles at UBS Warburg, Circle Housing Group, Future Cities Catapult and Carbon Trust.
She has also been on the boards of organisations such as Southern Water and Green Alliance and is currently a non executive director for Urban & Civic, Care REIT, Triple Point Energy Transition, and Chapter Zero.
Beatrice Lafon, chair of the Nido Living board, said in a statement: "Her extensive industry experience, combined with her track record in sustainability, aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and ESG excellence.
"As leaders in PBSA, we are dedicated to staying at the forefront of progress, and Rosemary’s experience will be invaluable as we drive meaningful advancements across the business."
Boot's appointment follows a series of leadership hires since Nido Living’s acquisition by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in April, read here.
These include chief executive Carlo Matta, chief financial officer Ryan Lee, head of Italy Giuseppe Zafferri, chief investment and development officer Taco van Heusden, and Lafon as chair.
The firm says its hires underpin its ambitious growth strategy, which includes expansion into new markets, with Italy and Germany top of the list.
Nido Living has 5,000 beds across Europe, with another 1,000 in the pipeline, including 800 in the UK opening in 2025 in Leeds and Lancaster.
