The Philadelphia region’s population migration patterns significantly shifted in 2022, according to the latest county-level estimations released by the U.S. Census Bureau. Following considerable population gains in 2020, the region suffered a population loss of 12,100 people between 2021 and 2022. While the region's overall population remains higher than in 2019, the latest population declines have diluted the recent momentum.
