Bond Cos., a mixed-use and retail developer with offices in Chicago, Los Angeles and Richmond, along with its joint venture partner MDC Properties, celebrated the opening of the first tenants at Springbrook Prairie Pavilion this past weekend. The 270,000-square-foot lifestyle center sits on 27 acres at the northwest corner of 75th Street and Fort Hill Drive in Naperville, IL. A 50,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market (opening July 16) is the center's primary anchor tenant. Other tenants on the roster include Loehmann's, Cost Plus World Market, HomeGoods, Nordstrom Rack, Buffalo Wild Wings, Road Runner Sports, Charles Ifergan, Bank of America and Chase Bank. A central plaza is at the core of the development, where events and gatherings will be held. Other features include pedestrian walkways, bike paths and landscaping. Bond and MDC are built Springbrook in accordance with the USGBC's Silver-Level LEED Certification standards. "We have gone to great lengths to make certain it is different in form and function. The design assures that it will blend almost seamlessly into the surrounding natural environs. In addition, there are many 'sustainable' features that contribute to the preservation of the environment," said Robert J. Bond, president of Bond Cos in an earlier press release.
