After working for more than two decades at CBRE, Connor Kerr said the growth trajectory of a rival global brokerage in Chicago caught his eye.
The other firm is Savills North America, and Kerr joined its Chicago office earlier this month.
“Savills is rapidly growing in Chicago and throughout North America, making it an ideal choice for my next career move,” Kerr said in a statement.
The addition of Kerr, Savills said, would fortify the New York City-based operation's tenant representation capabilities across North America.
During his nearly 22 years at CBRE, Kerr negotiated real estate transactions on behalf of companies ranging from major corporations with an individual location to users with offices around the globe.
"He is joining our office at a pivotal time as leasing activity continues to increase and clients seek timely strategies on implementing innovative, customized solutions that address their evolving real estate needs,” George Kohl, executive vice president of operations for the Midwest region, said in a statement.
As Savills expands aggressively in North America, it has grown its leadership and teams in several key markets including New York City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nashville and Florida. The firm has also fortified its capabilities in industrial services, workplace strategy, site selection, business incentives and project management.
In Chicago, in addition to recruiting Kerr, Savills recently promoted Alex Greene to managing director, Adam Southard to senior managing director and Chris Tarzon to corporate managing director.
