Jaffe To Open The Arboretum of South Barrington

Luxury Cinema, L.L. Bean and Other Upscale Tenants on the Roster of $200M Project

Northbrook, IL-based The Jaffe Cos. is scheduled to open the first phase of The Arboretum of South Barrington on Sept. 26. The $200 million project is on 85 acres at the northeast quadrant of Higgins Road and Hwy. 59 at the I-90 interchange in South Barrington, a northwest Chicago suburb. The 600,000-square-foot open-air lifestyle center's first phase is approximately 472,000 square feet. Jaffe expects phase two to be completed spring 2010. Anchored by a 40,000-square-foot Village Roadshow Gold Class Cinema and 30,000-square-foot new format L.L. Bean, other tenants include Chico's, Coldwater Creek, Soma, White House/Black Market, Ann Taylor Loft, J. Crew, Aveda, DSW, The Limited Too, Soft Surroundings, Victoria's Secret, Panera Bread, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Blue Coral Sushi, Pinstripes, and more. The lifestyle center is across the street from a Target-anchored shopping center and the site of a new Cabela's. Built upon the site of a former tree farm, Jaffe said 2,700 trees are planted throughout the site and L.L. Bean seeks to LEED-certify its store.
