CoreNet Global's New York City chapter kicked off the year with one of its biggest event turnouts, an outcome organizers say was helped by the real estate where it took place: the landmark Gotham Hall in midtown Manhattan.

The nonprofit association for corporate real estate executives attracted more than 350 attendees to the historic venue built a century ago, originally for the Greenwich Savings Bank, with the 9,000-square-foot ballroom featuring 70-foot ceilings. CoreNet NYC previously hosted its start-of-the-year parties at venues including the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center, Larry Charlip, president of CoreNet NYC and interim global facilities lead at Warner Music Group, said in an interview.

“This is one of my favorite venues in New York,” Charlip said. He told CoStar News that the venue located at 1356 Broadway lured the crowd to the event held a couple of weeks ago.

As attendees mingled beneath a stained-glass skylight, Charlip described the industry sentiment for 2024 as “cautiously optimistic.”

Changes in the office market dominated conversations, he said. As hybrid work becomes more entrenched, it remains a hot topic, Charlip added.
