Paris Baguette, the bakery cafe chain, plans to open 40 new locations by the end of the year, which will bring its U.S. footprint to nearly 150 restaurants as it expands nationally.
The South Korean franchise, with its U.S. corporate headquarters in Moonachie, New Jersey, plans to further accelerate its growth next year, with 96 bakery cafes slated to debut, according to the company. Paris Baguette now operates in 14 states and has struck franchise deals that will bring it to 25 states total. The chain has a combination of corporate-owned and franchise locations.
“We set an aggressive goal to open 1,000 locations in the U.S. by 2030 and we’re on track to exceed this plan with strategic direction on growth, quality products, customer experience and innovation,” Darren Tipton, Paris Baguette Americas CEO, said in a statement.
In addition to recent openings in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Austin, Texas, Paris Baguette is scheduled to bow in Ithaca, New York; Woodland Hills, California; Winter Park, Florida; Red Bank, New Jersey; Livingston, New Jersey; and Scottsdale, Arizona.
In 2022, the company has reported year-over-year sales growth of 42% and a comparable-store sales increase of 31%. In addition, traffic counts increased 28% over 2021, showing growth above both 2020 and 2019.
The 40 sites openings through year-end will feature a new format and brand concept that offers “a welcoming, contemporary design,” according to Paris Baguette. There will be windows into the bakers’ work areas and an attempt to connect to the community through localized murals.
