Kansas City Industrial Demand Concentrated in Two Areas

Over the Past Year, Move-Ins Exceed Move-Outs by More Than 13 Million Square Feet

Through the first half of 2023, tenant demand for the Kansas City industrial market continues to be above average, with annual absorption, or the difference between move-ins and move-outs, reaching 13.1 million square feet over the trailing 12 months. This is 43% above the quarterly average since the beginning of 2020. Some parts of the region have had a majority of this demand.
