Catesby Estates, a strategic land promoter owned by Urban&Civic, has expanded its team and portfolio by buying L&Q Estates.

As part of the deal, which was led by the parent company, Catesby Estates has brought on 11 members from the L&Q Estates business, increasing its headcount to 30 people.

Catesby Estates said the additions have "significant knowledge and expertise in land, planning, technical matters and asset management".

This includes Adrian Clack, who joins as group land director and has a track record in strategic land acquisition, specialising in large, multi-landowner, urban extension and new settlement sites.

He sits on the Catesby board and senior management team, overseeing an expanded land team which includes associate land directors Kathryn Hemingway and Jonny Dodd, and senior land manager Natasha Brand.

Sarah Griffiths, Stuart Field and Richard Crosthwaite have joined as associate planning directors, with Aritz Kaushik and Graham Whitehouse becoming area technical directors. Donna Elkin and Celestine Lyons are named asset manager and associate asset manager.

Catesby Estates added the deal had increased its market presence in key target locations, including the central and south of England, while its promotional portfolio has grown by more than 44,000 plots.

Myron Osborne, chief executive of Catesby Estates, said in a statement: "This growth, combined with our already significant financial backing, will provide us with a clear platform advantage over other land promotion businesses to establish ourselves as the market leader.

"This acquisition is a perfect alignment of expertise and resources to ensure we continue to provide landowners a best-in-class service for maximising the potential of their land."
