Savills rating team expands with director hire

Savills has expanded its rating team with the appointment of Tom Warren, who will be based at the firm’s Finsbury Circus office in the City of London. Warren joins the consultancy as a director and brings expertise in the office and restaurant/leisure sectors. He will focus primarily on the Central London market and spent seven and a half years at Colliers, providing clients with business rates advice across a range of sectors across the area. He is experienced in advising occupiers, owners and developers of commercial property, predominantly in the City. David Parker, head of rating at Savills, said in a statement: "Tom will be a valuable addition to our expanding team."

JLL names head of planning in Scotland

JLL has appointed a new head of planning in Scotland with 25 years' experience. Ally Campbell has worked on major retail developments, purpose-built student accommodation, hotel and office conversions in Edinburgh and Glasgow city centres. This includes time at property consultants Montagu Evans, where she worked her way up from the role of graduate to partner and delivered a number of high-profile planning permissions. Campbell also worked as a planning officer for Stirling and Fife councils. She will lead the Scottish planning team at JLL from the firm’s Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

BNP Paribas Real Estate hires CBRE valuations expert

BNP Paribas Real Estate has recruited Philip Longstaff as a director in its valuation team. Longstaff joins BNPPRE after 17 years at CBRE, where he most recently held the role of associate director in the international valuation team, covering UK and European commercial markets. He will focus on Yorkshire, the East Midlands and North West, and will be based at the firm's Leeds and Sheffield offices. The hire continues the growth of the agency's Northern valuation team and follows additions in Newcastle and Scotland. David Couch, senior director in the Valuation team at BNPPRE, said: "We’ve expanded our team to reflect the demand coming through."

Montagu Evans appoints senior ratings partner

Montagu Evans has expanded its national rating team ahead of the 2026 revaluation by appointing Julie Chalmers as a partner. She will be based at the partnership’s Manchester office and joins after three years as a director at Colliers. Before that she spent seven years at Newmark, then Gerald Eve. Chalmers will initially work on mandates including Manchester Metropolitan University, Salford College and Transport for Greater Manchester and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. The firm said it will continue to recruit in key areas following additional investment into the business by partners at the end of last year, after hiring two industrial specialists in the last three months.

LSH adds four in Birmingham

Lambert Smith Hampton has added four recruits in its Birmingham office. Will Higgins joins from Knight Frank as an associate director in the capital markets team, focused on office and industrial sectors. He is an experienced agent in the Birmingham market and has worked on key instructions including One Colmore Square and 103 Colmore Row. Elle Gray joins as a senior associate from Knight Frank, prior to which she was at Grainger, and is a specialist in the living sector and has an extensive track record in regional private rented sector acquisitions and disposals. Sam Hill becomes an acquisition surveyor and Joe Castledine enters as an assistant surveyor.

Property recruitment firm adds in central London

Real estate recruitment firm Madison Berkeley has hired Jack Wyke as a recruitment resourcer in central London. Wyke will work closely with company founders Nina Zeilerbauer and Clare Coe. He has experience at Phoenix Group working as an intern in the asset management team and will help contribute research to the firm. Zeilerbauer said in a statement: "Madison Berkeley is confident that Jack will be a valuable addition to the team, he’s already showing real acumen in recruitment as well as understanding the culture and values of Madison Berkeley. Clare Coe and I look forward to supporting Jack’s growth and development in the industry."
