Demand for US industrial space loses momentum in last quarter of 2024

The fledgling recovery in tenant demand for U.S. industrial space that carried through the spring and summer of 2024 lost momentum in the year's final quarter. Net absorption, which measures the net change in occupied space, remained positive but slipped to just 31 million square feet across CoStar’s 87 national index markets, the lowest national fourth-quarter tally since 2011.
