IHG Hotels & Resorts has named Jolyon Bulley as its new CEO for the Americas. He will take over the role from Elie Maalouf, who was named as IHG’s new group CEO on May 5 after Keith Barr decided to step down, the company said in a news release Wednesday.

Bulley most recently served as CEO for the Greater China region at IHG since 2018 and was the chief operating officer for the Americas region at IHG from 2014 to 2017. He will start his new position on July 1, the same day Maalouf takes over as group CEO.

“I have worked in the hospitality industry my entire career and I’m looking forward to building on Elie’s legacy in the region, remaining focused on capitalizing on strong owner and guest demand for our amazing brands and our attractive enterprise platform,” Bulley said in the news release.

Maalouf said Bulley “has a proven track record” of driving growth in the Americas region from his former chief operating officer role.

“I am pleased to be able to move into the Group CEO role knowing that Jolyon will further strengthen the Americas leadership team,” Maalouf said in the news release.
