Only Dallas-Fort Worth and Phoenix bested the Houston metropolitan area in terms of population growth in 2019. And in terms of counties, Houston’s Harris County had the second-largest population increase over the first nine years of the decade, adding more than 620,000 people, trailing only Phoenix’s Maricopa County.
