Cushman expands Florida institutional team

Kenneth Krasnow rejoined Cushman & Wakefield as vice chair in the firm’s Boca Raton, Florida, office. He specializes in advisory services for local public sector entities and higher education institutions, the brokerage said. Krasnow most recently served as vice chairman for Colliers’ institutional investor services in Florida, responsible for procurement of public sector clients and management of 40 key accounts.

Krasnow started his career in 1987 in Cushman & Wakefield’s New York City office, where he worked for nearly 20 years. He has served in a variety of brokerage and market leadership roles, helping clients with talent recruiting and business development.

Colliers adds California leasing broker

Colliers added senior vice president Ryan Gast to its brokerage team in Southern California’s Inland Empire region, as it seeks to expand its retail leasing services, the brokerage said. Gast will handle landlord and tenant representation of local, national and institutional clients.

Gast joins Colliers from CBRE, where he served as vice president, and is based in Colliers’ office in Ontario, California. He has completed more than 550 deals encompassing more than 3 million square feet in a career spanning more than 13 years. Gast has represented clients in various retail property categories, including neighborhood and regional shopping centers. 

Brixton Capital bolsters retail focus

Retail and multifamily property investment firm Brixton Capital promoted Kim Masayko from managing director of operations to executive managing director of operations, as part of some larger moves to expand its retail investments.

Masayko joined Brixton in 2016 after previously working at Regency Centers.

The Solana Beach, California-based company said it also appointed four current staff members to its executive committee: Dan Sutherland, managing director of investments; Brad Barsily, managing director of capital markets; Eric Li, vice president of leasing; and Michael Smith, vice president of asset management.

Brixton owns and operates a nationwide portfolio of about $2 billion in assets under management.

Jackson-Shaw promotes three executives

Developer Jackson-Shaw promoted three executives as it expands its Texas and North Carolina operations, the Dallas-based company said. Grant Pearson, formerly vice president of industrial development, was promoted to chief development officer, overseeing the firm’s national industrial projects. Pearson joined the company in 2015 and established its Houston office in 2018.

Jackson-Shaw also promoted Ryan Beadle from development director to vice president of development, based in the firm’s Charlotte, North Carolina office. Reid Watler, formerly development manager, was promoted to vice president of development, based in the Houston office.

Jackson-Shaw was established in 1972 and has developed more than 63 million square feet of industrial and hospitality projects nationwide.

Aventon Cos. opens Atlanta office

Multifamily developer Aventon Cos. expanded operations in Georgia with the opening of an Atlanta office headed by David Singer, managing director of development. The Raleigh, North Carolina-based company said Singer will seek new suburban land development opportunities in the Atlanta region, responding to population and employment growth.

Aventon has developed a $2 billion portfolio since 2019. It opened its first project in metropolitan Atlanta last year in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Aventon is currently developing its third property in that region, the 280-unit Aventon Victory in Savannah, Georgia. Its national portfolio now includes more than 9,000 apartments in Florida, the Carolinas and mid-Atlantic region.
