Last year, there were 60 property transactions of more than €50 million each in Germany, according to Thomas Daily, a CoStar News publication.

Together, they amount to €8.7 billion, 60% less than what was recorded in 2022.

The biggest deal was the circa €1 billion purchase of a supermarket portfolio by Slate from X+Bricks. The second-biggest deal would have been the sale of a 50%-stake in Berlin’s KaDeWe store from Signa to Central Group for around €700 million, but the deal never took place.

The 10 biggest residential sales totalled €2.2 billion. More than €900 million was transacted by Vonovia with the sale of two portfolios to CBRE Investment Management.
