The parent company behind brands including Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn may have built its reputation on in-store cooking demonstrations and Martha Stewart-worthy displays. But in a bid to reconfigure the split between online and brick-and-mortar sales, it is rolling out plans to shrink its retail footprint.
