How do I select a Location?
As before, the Location field is on the top left of the screen. You can also use the Location button on the left of the map or the Location tab in the advanced filters menu to view the full set of options.
How do I view advanced filters?
Click the Filters button at the top of the screen.
How do I know which filters I have applied?
Once you’ve clicked the Filters button, you’ll see all available filters in an alley. Hovering over the Show Criteria link at the bottom of the page will display all of the filters you currently have applied. You can clear any individual filter by clicking the tag’s X button.
Can I adjust how the map displays?
Yes, you can use the Map button underneath the Layers button on the left of the map to toggle between Street, Aerial, and – for some markets – 3D.
How can I search by Market, Submarket, and other related filters?
You can find them within the Location field in the upper left, the Location button on the left of the map, or the Location tab in the advanced filters menu.
And the Polygon, Radius and Corridor features?
These drawing tools are accessed through buttons on the map.
What is the Layers button?
Below the Corridor button on the left of the map, you’ll find the Layers button. Clicking it will bring up the Map Layers options. In the New Search, you can use these options to overlay analytic and demographic information onto the map, as well as Opportunity Zones.
Why do the Property Type and Property Size filters change to Space Use and Available Space when I select For Lease as my Listing Type?
The Property Type and Property Size filters automatically adjust to your Listing Type for added convenience. With a lease-only search, space-related filters are typically more relevant than property-related filters, so we display Space Use and Available Space instead. They will remain as Property Type and Property Size if For Sale or Lease & Sale are selected as the Listing Type.
What are the property/record descriptions and images on the right side of the screen?
These placards are your search results. Clicking a pin on the map will highlight the appropriate placard. Use the placards to see a quick summary of property/record information and view property images. To view more information, click the address or the +View More link.
Why do some placards in the All Properties Search have a green strip at the top?
Green placards display properties within your search results that CoStar clients have paid to feature. Such properties are featured at the top of the search result list.
Can I remove properties/records from my search results while in Map view?
Yes. To remove a property or record from your search results, click the minus sign in the upper right corner of its placard.
Can I create a custom result set within my search results?
Yes, you can do this in one of two ways:
Build a list using Favorites. To add a property to your Favorites list, click the heart icon on the placard. To view your list of Favorites, click the Favorites button, which will appear above your search results once you have added at least one property to the Favorites list. When viewing your Favorite Properties list, any actions you take will only apply to your Favorites.
Use the Select and Remove buttons. Narrow down your current result list using the Remove button (the minus icon) to remove a result. You can also use the Select button (the check mark icon) to select properties to remove your selected properties, or remove the unselected properties.
How do I save a survey or access previously saved surveys?
Click the Save button on the upper right of the screen. The drop down menu will give you the option of saving your current survey as well as the ability to load a previously saved survey.
How do I switch views?
Use the Map, List and Analytics buttons in the upper right corner of the screen.
Do my search results change or disappear when I switch views?
No. All views display the same search results, regardless of the view you were in when you began the search.
Can I adjust filters after switching views?
Yes. You can adjust filters no matter which view you’re in.
How do I modify the layout in List view?
Click the Modify Table link in the lower right corner of List view.
Can I remove individual properties, spaces and records in List View?
Yes. When you hover over an individual property, space or record, a minus sign will appear. Click the minus sign to remove that property or space.
What is the Analytics view?
We’ve enhanced CoStar’s analytics capabilities to bring you real-time analytics customized to your search results. Use the Analytics view to see historical trends and forecasts for Key Performance Indicators, rents, vacancy, and more.
How do I find a specific chart?
You can scroll through the dashboard or use the search function. To use the search function, click the Charts button in the upper right corner and use the subsequent drop down menus to locate the chart you wish to view.
Where do I go to export the Analytics view’s current data set?
Click the Data tab to display the full data set for your current search results. From here, click the Export button on the far right of the screen. Your data will then export to an Excel document.
Where do I go to view a specific chart’s data set?
Click a specific chart to view it in fullscreen, then click the Data button in the upper right corner.
How do I return to the main Analytics dashboard after viewing a specific chart in fullscreen?
Click the Back button in the upper left corner.
